Tourism: Morocco wins a prize in Warsaw

TOURISM – A new distinction was awarded to Morocco and won, Friday, by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), which won the prize for best stand and design at the 24th edition of the Warsaw International Tourism Fair (Travel Trade Warsaw).

The prize for the best stand and design was presented by the director of the Fair Urszula Potega to the representative of the ONMT delegation for Eastern Europe, Rachid Ennaciri.

The Moroccan stand, which was inaugurated on November 24 by the Moroccan ambassador in Warsaw Youns Tijani, stood out by combining tradition, modernity and functionality. It included a decoration presenting the tourist attractions of the kingdom between sea, desert and mountains.

The prize for best stand design, also won by the ONMT, was obtained thanks to authentic decoration and special animation. During the inauguration ceremony of the Show, the Polish Minister of Tourism, Mr. David Lasek visited the Moroccan stand where he had an exchange with the Moroccan ambassador, highlighting Poland’s interest in the Morocco destination.

Tourism professionals from Agadir, Marrakech, Ouarzazate and Saidia worked during the show to promote and prospect the Eastern European markets. They held several working meetings with Polish tour operators to reach several decisions aimed at increasing the number of Polish tourists going to Morocco.

More and more Poles are traveling to the kingdom. On average 50,000 tourists from Poland go to Morocco each year, a figure expected to increase, the ONMT delegation is in advanced talks with local partners to increase the number of charter flights between four Polish cities and Agadir with the objective of having 18,000 additional seats per year.

Poland is the first market from this zone. It is already connected to Morocco by charter flights departing in particular from the cities of Warsaw and Katowice (South of the country).

The Warsaw Fair (TT Warsaw November 25 -27) is an unmissable event for tourism professionals with more than 380 exhibitors, 48 destinations represented and more than 300 accredited media.
