CAN Morocco 2025: Senegal brushes aside Egypt and reaches the final thanks to a gem from Sadio Mané

The Senegalese selection validated its ticket for the final of the African Cup of Nations organized in Morocco, following a difficult but valuable victory against the Egyptian team with a score of 1 goal to zero, during an intense match played this evening at the Grand Stade de Tangier, counting for the first semi-final of the competition.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 74th minute of normal time by Liverpool star Sadio Mané, author of a powerful and precise strike from a distance of 22 meters, which found the back of the Egyptian goalkeeper’s net.

The match was marked by a fierce battle in midfield, with the Egyptian team trying to impose its game based on defensive balance and quick transitions.

However, the constant pressure exerted by the Lions of Téranga and their mastery of the pace of play ended up making the difference.

Thanks to this success, Senegal will face in the final the winner of the second semi-final, who will pit the Moroccan national team against their counterpart in a few moments Nigerian, in a highly anticipated poster which promises intensity and spectacle.

This qualification once again confirms the ambitions of the “Lions of Téranga” to win the continental title, carried by a golden generation combining experience and technical quality, while waiting to know the opponent who will stand in their way, namely the winner of the match between the Atlas Lions and Nigeria.
