Tourism in Agadir: Nearly 4 million overnight stays at the end of November 2016
Classified accommodation establishments in Agadir recorded a total of 3,920,267 tourist nights at the end of November 2016, according to the Agadir Souss-Massa Regional Tourism Council.
Despite the difficult economic situation in the tourism sector, Agadir was able to do well by achieving an increase of 2,154 nights compared to 2015, the year during which the city’s classified accommodation establishments totaled 3,918,113 nights at the end of November, notes the Center.
This performance is explained by the strong influx of national visitors who come out on top with a total of 921,014 overnight stays compared to 832,322 during the same period a year previously, an increase of 10.66%, the same source explains.
French tourists come in second position with 671,179 overnight stays during the first eleven months of 2016, compared to 801,840 during the same period of the previous year (-16.30%), followed by the Germans with 587,283 overnight stays, compared to 550,143 a year earlier, an increase of 6.75%.
