“La Gazelle d’or”, Jacques Chirac’s favorite hotel in Morocco, closed
Former President of the French Republic Jacques Chirac will probably no longer visit Taroudant. The hotel where he used to stay has just closed.
“La Gazelle d’or” is permanently closed following a conflict between the managers, reports VSD magazine in this week’s edition.
Jacques Chirac, who is a regular visitor to Morocco, went to Taroudant very often, particularly for the end-of-year celebrations. He was seen several times with his wife Bernadette at the city church located in the Akniss district.
In recent years, he had stopped going to Taroudant, preferring the city of Agadir for health reasons.
Other personalities also used to stay at the Gazelle d’Or. We are talking about Catherine Deneuve, Monica Bellucci, Élisabeth and Robert Badinter, John Galliano or even Anne Sinclair, Alain Juppé and Dominique de Villepin.
