Mehdia: Launch of the 2nd tranche for an investment of 25 MDH

Work on the second phase of the Mehdia Corniche development project, aiming to make this beach an essential tourist destination, was launched on Monday in Rabat, for a total investment of 25 million dirhams (MDH).

This project, the second phase of which was launched by the governor of the province of Kenitra, Fouad M’Hamdi, aims to improve and strengthen the basic infrastructure of Mehdia beach, in order to elevate it to the rank of national seaside resorts. This project is part of the Strategic Plan for the integrated and sustainable development of the province of Kenitra, which was launched by HM Mohammed VI on April 7, 2015. With a budget of 8.321 billion DH, this plan aims to support the urban and demographic development of the capital of Gharb.

This project plans to improve the attraction of this beach, through its alignment, the installation of public lighting, green spaces, sports equipment, public squares and parking lots, in addition to the development of the buildings located next to the beach, so as to harmonize them with the new corniche.

Concerning the financing of this project, led by the province of Kénitra, the contribution of the General Directorate of Local Authorities (DGSL) is 20 million DH, while the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra paid 5 MDH.
