First operational opening of a Fairmont hotel in Morocco

The AccorHotels group announced the conclusion of a hotel management agreement (HMA) with New Mauritius Hotels Limited, one of the oldest hotel owners and operators in Mauritius. 
In a press release recently made public, the group indicates that the Moroccan establishment will pass under the Fairmont brand next May and will mark a first step for Fairmont in Africa. 
“This new agreement strengthens AccorHotels’ position as a leader in the global luxury hotel market,” the same source underlines. 
“We are delighted to announce the first operational opening of a Fairmont hotel in Morocco, a unique brand that represents some of the most iconic and distinctive hotels in the world,” rejoiced Olivier Granet, General Manager and Director of Operations of AccorHotels Middle East and Africa. 
“Morocco is a strategic market where we are seeing solid growth and momentum. With 37 hotels currently in our portfolio, we look forward to complementing the country’s already robust tourism development plan and strengthening our overall development objective for Africa by doubling our network to 200 hotels,” he added. 
Also delighted with this management agreement with the luxury division of AccorHotels, Gilbert Espitalier-Noël, Managing Director, New Mauritius Hotels Limited, declared that “the Royal Palm Marrakech is an exceptional resort that we are proud to have developed. We are convinced that the management and commercial solidity of the AccorHotels group, with its new Fairmont brand, will contribute to making the Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech the leading resort in Morocco.” 
Nestled in the heart of a century-old olive grove, which offers a breathtaking view of the Atlas massif, the Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech is located just 12 kilometers from Marrakesh. 
Note that the next stages of the development of this establishment, which has 134 rooms including five presidential suites and 94 private residences, will focus on the Fairmont Royal Residences and Fairmont Royal residences. Palms Estates, elegant and sophisticated apartments currently under development. 
In this regard, Hamid Bentahar, Executive Vice President, Africa & Indian Ocean for Luxe AccorHotels brands said that the group is delighted to announce this new mixed-use property which combines luxury residences and a five-star hotel.
