Siam 2017: How OCP supports original projects

The OCP group asserts its status as a project supporter in agriculture. This is also one of the flagship initiatives that the phosphatier is highlighting during this 12th edition of SIAM. Indeed, OCP is taking stock of its investment fund, better known under the name Innovation Fund for Agriculture (IFFA).

An investment fund created in 2012, which is dedicated to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. In April 2017, 6 companies benefited from support from the investment fund.

Two companies are currently being invested. These are Unidrip and Shams. According to an executive at OCP, the overall investment is 230 million DH, of which 90 million DH comes from the fund. These projects result in the creation of no less than 400 direct jobs and 2,100 indirect induced positions, including more than 1,800 farmers. On incubation projects, OCP provides support and support at different levels.

“This value proposition translates into expert services for the benefit of innovative projects, which provide continuous support and which are sponsored and financed by OCP,” he explains to the phosphatier. The sponsored expert services, for the benefit of the fund’s holdings, aim to further consolidate and strengthen the selected projects. The aim is to offer project leaders a stimulating and reassuring framework which provides them with the means to carry out bold actions.

These incubation services, which result in support from several experts, act to strengthen the capacities of the promoter and the structure and encourage the emergence of a community of exchanges around participations. The expertise covers 4 key areas: production, industrial tools, valorization & support professions.

In total, 6 projects have been invested and 2 new structures selected are currently being invested. Overall, the findings of OCP supporters highlight a strong mobilization for the modernization, valorization and marketing of agricultural products.
