The city has several assets for the development of this sector and welcomes several internationally renowned athletes who come to train.
Pierre-Ambroise Bosse, French 800m record holder and ranked 4th at the Rio Olympic Games, is currently staying in Agadir to prepare for the European Athletics Cup which will take place on June 25, 2017.
According to the athlete, the assets available to the city are important for his training, in particular the hard sand beaches which allow better grip, as well as the Mondo-type track at the Adrar stadium.
In addition to the beaches, the stadium and the hotels, Agadir is pulling out all the stops for the development of the niche represented by sports tourism, in particular by hosting a training course for the English Premier League team Crystal Palace, concentration projects during the next winter break for the Scottish clubs Celtic of Glasgow and the Russian club Dynamo Moscow, not to mention the golf, surfing and triathlon tournaments.
