The tourist offer of the seaside resort of Saïdia has been strengthened by the creation of two new hotel units whose official opening ceremony took place on Saturday evening, in the presence of several personalities.
These two tourist establishments (5 stars), with a total capacity of 547 rooms, reinforce the presence of the international hotel group, the Spanish Meliá Hotels & Resorts, on the Moroccan market.
According to the managers of the Spanish group, the opening of these two large seaside establishments in the popular tourist destination of Saïdia, namely »Melia Saïdia Beach Resort » and »Melia Saïdia Garden Golf Resort », comes following the success of »Sol House Taghazout Bay » in the Agadir region.
Melia Saïdia Beach Resort will provide 397 rooms, while Melia Saïdia Garden Golf Resort will have 150 rooms, all inspired by traditional Moroccan design.
The two hotel units thus strengthen the tourist reception capacity of the first seaside resort in the Azur plan, and employment opportunities for the benefit of young people.
‘’The opening of these two magnificent hotels will mark the emergence of Saïdia on the map of luxury Mediterranean holidays, which will make eastern Morocco the most sought-after new destination for European vacationers,’’ we read in a press release from the Spanish group.
Founded in 1956 in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Meliá Hotels International is one of the largest hotel companies in the world, as well as the absolute leader in the Spanish market, with more than 370 hotels (portfolio and current projects) in more than 40 countries and four continents, notes the same source. The opening ceremony of the two units took place in the presence of the wali of the Oriental region, governor of the prefecture of Oujda-Angad, Mouad El Jamai, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Morocco, tourist operators and other personalities.
