The Moroccan group Marita Group Holding is sharpening its weapons. After joining forces in July 2018 with the American Triton Solar for the development of nanotechnology in Africa (www.lematin.ma), it now offers a new partnership with the Italian Bertone Design, a historic brand operating in the design and architecture sector. The two groups thus formed, on November 6 in Rabat, Bertone Design Africa, a company intended to operate on the African market. Under the terms of the agreement, Marita Group will involve Bertone Design Africa in the Holding’s current and future projects. This involves the development of totally eco-sustainable urban networks for electric vehicles in Rabat as well as urban planning and architectural projects across Africa. “Bertone Design Italia will develop the concept of projects and will be in charge of the artistic direction of all activities carried out by Bertone Design Africa, while Marita Group Holding will be responsible for the organization and management of the new company as well as the promotion and commercial development of the Bertone Design brand in Africa,” details a press release from Bertone Design Italia cited by MAP. Two projects are already planned by this alliance. The two groups “will join forces to carry out one of the largest real estate development projects in Morocco worth 350 million euros”, underlines the press release.
They will work on the redevelopment of an existing building with an area of 6,000 m² in order to create a 5-star hotel in Rabat, as well as the design of a new complex of more than 100 villas, decorated with gardens, in the same city. “The project includes a special landscaping study with an area of 71 hectares that has particular naturalistic value, in order to carry out the intervention with total respect for the environment,” according to the press release. Bertone Design presents itself as one of the most prestigious made in Italy brands specializing in the fields of architecture, industrial design and transport, with a team of great experience carrying out high-end projects at an international level. For its part, Marita Group Holding is a global company that offers turnkey solutions for real estate development, theme parks, renewable energy and electric vehicle production. In collaboration with leading automobile manufacturers, the group which operates on four continents has designed the first electric vehicle transport system for the public and private sectors in Africa.
