
The Marriott International group will open a new hotel complex near Marrakech
Marriott International Group partners with United Real Estate Co., a subsidiary of Kuwait Projects Co. to open a new resort in Morocco.
The ocher city was chosen for this new project which should see the light of day in 2024, reports the Reuters press agency. The St. Regis Marrakech will belong to the Moroccan company Assoufid Properties Development and will be developed by United Real Estate. The cost of the investment, the number of beds and the surface area of the complex have not been revealed.
“Marriott announced in October that it had signed agreements with partners to increase its hotels in Africa by 50% by 2023, open new ones in Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, South Africa and enter the Mozambique market,” specifies Reuters.
Last October, the Marriott International group partnered with the Emirati Eagle Hills for a first St. Regis resort in Tamuda Bay. It should see the light of day in 2020. In 2017, the American company opened the doors of its very first Moroccan hotel, Marriott Jnan Palace, located in Fez.
