Requested by the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT) since 2020, the vaccination of tourism sector personnel has finally started since Sunday, July 25, in the main tourist destinations of Morocco.
According to several official sources from regional health and tourism delegations, vaccination centers in the cities of Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, etc. have begun to receive hotel employees as a priority due to the fact that they are in direct contact with national and foreign customers.
If, despite our insistence, we were unable to obtain the number of people targeted at the national level, a source from the Marrakech health delegation told us that hotel staff in the ocher city had started to be vaccinated at an initial rate of 1,500 people/day.
A vaccination figure which will be expected to evolve depending on the results of the census still in progress.
In fact, it is only after counting the number of employees in each trade that this operation can be extended to restaurant employees, travel agents and finally tourist guides.
Remember that the national campaign within which this targeted campaign is part has been extended since Friday July 24 to all citizens over the age of 25.
