More promising prospects for Moroccan tourism
The Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF), under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, highlights more promising prospects for the tourism sector in Morocco.
“With the announcement of the emergency plan adopted and the reopening of national borders from February 7, 2022, the prospects for this sector look more promising,” indicates the DEPF in its economic note of February 2022.
Indeed, several airlines have since resumed their activity to and from the Kingdom, reports the same source, specifying that the number of international flights recorded at national airports amounted to 1,654 flights during the first week of resumption (from February 7 to 13). The DEPF also reports a particular enthusiasm for the French market which represents 28% of overnight reservations from foreigners.
And note that since February 16, 2021, the destination Morocco has been classified, by the French authorities in the green list, among the countries with negligible or moderate circulation of the coronavirus, in the absence of an emerging variant of concern.
