
Tourism: Fatim-Zahra Ammor begins her regional tour through Marrakech-Safi
As part of the deployment of the new 2023-2026 tourism roadmap, the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, began her regional tour through Marrakech-Safi. During this first stage, the minister met Karim Kassi-Lahlou, Wali of the region, Samir Goudar, President of the Regional Council, Hamid Bentahar, President of the CRT of the region and President of the National Confederation of Tourism, in addition to representatives of professionals, local authorities and professional chambers. Fatim-Zahra Ammor first summarized the outlines of this roadmap in terms of quantified ambitions, tourism offerings and transversal levers, thanking the regional actors who participated in its development. More specifically, she underlined the essential role that the Marrakech-Safi region will play in this new vision given its enormous tourism potential in urban areas and in the hinterland. Tourism being a cross-functional sector, the minister did not fail to recall the importance of mobilizing all stakeholders in the creation of an impeccable tourist experience and in achieving the ambitions set for the region. In this context, the Wilaya and local authorities will play a steering role through the Regional Plans Monitoring Commission as well as support in the implementation of driving projects and sector development prerequisites. They will also participate in the work of the Impulse Laboratories responsible for developing tourism sectors as well as in Regional Animation Structures. Fatim-Zahra Ammor also recalled the importance of projects for which the role of local authorities is decisive in the tourist experience, namely regulations, simplification of procedures and authorizations, mobilization of land, control, cleanliness, etc. The regional councils and local authorities, for their part, will be essential partners for the establishment of the prerequisites for the development of the sectors necessary for the launch of the identified projects and the driving projects. To conclude, the minister raised awareness among all participants, in particular the Wilaya, the Regional Council, and professionals of the importance of committing together to support this positive dynamic and succeed in this challenge which will make it possible to strengthen the weight of tourism in the socio-economic inclusion of the Marrakech-Safi region. This meeting was attended by Imad Barrakad, Director General of the Moroccan Society of Tourist Engineering (SMIT), Adel El Fakir Director General of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and Mohammed Msellek, Secretary General of the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy.
