13.2 million tourists visited Morocco at the end of November 2023, a record

Tourist arrivals in Morocco have reached record figures. 13.2 million people during the first eleven months of 2023, exceeding the best performance of 12.9 million tourists for the entire year of 2019, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy. “2023 is indeed a year of change for Moroccan tourism. In eleven months, 13.2 million tourists visited Morocco, beating the absolute record of 12.9 million for the entire year of 2019,” the ministry announced in a press release. Compared to the same period of 2022, the increase is 36%. In November 2023, around one million tourists visited the kingdom, an increase of 9% compared to November 2022. This dynamic can be attributed to the Moroccan strategy of promoting the Morocco destination, making the kingdom a tourist country par excellence. “We are delighted with these exceptional results, which encourage and motivate us further to continue the work started with all stakeholders in the sector. The start of the implementation of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap is clearly bearing fruit, and we are well on our way to exceeding the target of 14 million tourists by the end of December 2023,” declared Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy.
