The 8th “Study in Spain” Fair, from February 12 to 16 in Casablanca, Rabat, Fez and Tetouan

Initiated by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities and the Education Office of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco, this event is intended to be a unique opportunity to highlight the educational offer of Spanish universities and higher education establishments and to share cultural affinities and areas of common interest in scientific research, indicates a press release from the Spanish Embassy in Morocco.

This 8th Fair, organized in collaboration with IE Juan Ramón Jiménez and IE Nuestra Señora del Pilar, will see the participation of 24 Spanish universities with the aim of promoting the internationalization of the Spanish university system to offer Moroccan students a wide range in their higher education and encourage mobility between Spain and Morocco, according to the same source. The event also aims to enable Moroccan students to prepare at the Spanish University to assume an active role in the future development of economic and social relations between Spain and Morocco. Likewise, it contributes to the development of scientific, cultural and economic relations between the two countries, as well as to the strengthening of mutual knowledge of institutions, in addition to the creation of links between Spanish and Moroccan universities. This 8th edition will take place on February 12 at the Juan Ramón Jiménez Spanish Institute in Casablanca, while in Rabat, students will be invited to participate in this event on February 13 at the Mohammed VI Foundation for the promotion of social works in education and training. The “Study in Spain” meeting will then be hosted by the city of Fez on February 14 before stopping, on February 16, at the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Spanish Institute in Tetouan. Morocco is the African country with the largest number of international students entering the Spanish university system, recalls the press release, noting that a total of 7,456 Moroccan students were enrolled in Spanish universities during the 2021-2022 academic year, according to data from the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. In terms of the increasing mobility of Moroccan students, teachers and researchers in higher education, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, Spain remains the European country which receives the most candidates from Morocco and the second partner in terms of number of joint projects.
