The EBRD forecasts growth of 3% for Morocco in 2024

According to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Moroccan economy is expected to grow by 3% in 2024, followed by an increase to 3.6% in 2025. This forecast is based on an expected recovery in external demand and public investment. Despite challenges such as the September 2023 earthquake in the High Atlas, Morocco has maintained its growth, recording an expansion of 3.2% in 2023, driven by the agricultural sector, tourism and transport. The Moroccan government maintains a trajectory of fiscal consolidation while continuing its investments in post-earthquake reconstruction and targeted social programs. The EBRD also highlights a downward revision of the growth outlook for the southern and eastern Mediterranean region to 3.4% in 2024, mainly due to delays in major public investment projects and regional tensions in the Middle East.
