After Casablanca, Marrakech-Menara airport freed from gantries and scanners, but not only…
The National Airports Office announces the removal of scanners and gantries at the entrances to Marrakech-Menara airport, a few days after a similar measure at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca. It was announced that after Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, Marrakech airport is also getting rid of scanners and gantries. “In order to improve the traveler experience, it is the turn of Marrakech-Menara airport to move the inspection devices – scanner and gantry – to the entrances, thus eliminating long queues,” said the National Airports Office in a press release sent to H24Info. This measure is in addition to a series of developments carried out to improve the efficiency of the various passenger routes. “Travelers using Marrakech Menara airport can now access more quickly through all the airport’s entry points,” welcomes the office, adding that “this progress was made possible thanks to the mobilization of the various authorities in charge of airport security”, whose “coordination made it possible to rethink the control system while maintaining strict security standards”.
That’s not all. The press release states that “to meet the growing demand at this airport which is the primary entry point for millions of travelers from around the world, ONDA has already strengthened the airport’s reception capacities with developments dedicated to better management of spaces and flows, in particular by increasing the waiting capacity on arrival and by rearranging specific control zones for international and domestic flights”. Several additional projects Reinforced human resources and additional equipment have also been deployed to ensure rapid and efficient service. “The purpose of these actions was to considerably reduce waiting times, which fell to less than an hour on average,” welcomes the public body headed by Adel El Fakir.
In addition, several additional projects are planned to reduce this time to half an hour and further strengthen the fluidity and satisfaction of passengers. These are the “redevelopment of the Departure area”, “new management equipment”, the “installation of E-gates”, the “addition of new boarding gates” as well as a “new boarding lounge”, lists ONDA. And to conclude by recalling that “these measures are part of ONDA’s “Airport 2030” strategy aimed at best meeting the expectations of travelers, while continuing to develop infrastructure to support the growth of tourism and air connectivity in Morocco.”
