Morocco, summer destination of choice for the French in 2025
In 2025, Morocco will attract French vacationers more than ever Morocco will emerge in 2025 as one of the most popular summer destinations for the French, according to a survey carried out by Opinion Way for Beur FM. In a context marked by economic prudence and a tendency to stay in France for the holidays, the Kingdom is doing well thanks to an attractive combination: security, accessibility and good value for money. Despite a drop in the number of French people wishing to travel abroad (only 45% plan to leave the country, compared to 50% in 2024), Morocco continues to charm. The Liligo comparator indicates that a significant part of summer searches focus on this destination, which offers an accessible change of scenery at reasonable prices. Marrakech remains the most popular city, but other Moroccan destinations are experiencing remarkable growth. Essaouira, nicknamed the “pearl of the Atlantic”, recorded a spectacular 147% increase in searches. For its part, Fez, famous for its rich Arab-Andalusian heritage, grew by 64%. Even if a majority of French people (67%) will opt for a vacation in France this summer, Morocco remains one of the rare international destinations to maintain a strong appeal. This trend, increasing compared to 2024, does not prevent the Kingdom from asserting itself as an attractive alternative. For Moroccan tourism players, the renewed appeal of the French market is an opportunity to exploit. Strengthening communication campaigns, improving tourist services and modernizing infrastructure could help attract more visitors. In summary, Morocco appears in 2025 as a reassuring and wise choice for French people wanting to get away without compromising on security or their budget.
