This agreement concerns the acquisition of ten modern H225M type helicopters, marking a strategic step for the replacement of the former fleet of « Puma », in service for more than forty years
Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, welcomed this decision, seeing it as a confirmation of the historic and lasting partnership with the Kingdom, He stressed that the H225M model is a global benchmark for the execution of complex missions in demanding environments, thus consolidating its position of preferred choice for Search and Rescue missions in Combat (CSAR) and special operations
The aeronautics giant specified that the new Moroccan helicopters will be equipped with the latest technologies to guarantee efficiency and safety, They will be equipped with a double winch, a sophisticated search light and an advanced optronic-electric system « Safran Euroflir 410 », These devices will also be capable of carrying machine guns and electronic warfare systems for self-protection
The contract is not limited to delivery, but also includes an integrated support package and after-sales connected services. military operators include major nations such as France, Brazil, Singapore and Kuwait
Confirming its commitment to supporting the Moroccan fleet, Airbus Helicopters announced in 2024 the creation of a customer service center in Morocco to support a fleet of 60 helicopters of the Royal Forces, and it is expected that this center will evolve into an integrated Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), becoming the regional hub of Airbus Helicopters for West Africa
