TANGIER ORGANIZES ITS 1ST REGIONAL TOURISM EXCHANGE
For this first edition, nearly 200 operators including regional, Moroccan and international tour operators and Tour Operators (T.O) have already confirmed their participation.
The Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma Region and the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) are organizing, in partnership with the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma Region and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma, the first edition of the Tangier Regional Tourism Exchange (BRT). The event, which will take place on October 19 and 20, 2018 in Tangier, is exclusively dedicated to professionals. It aims to boost the flow of tourist arrivals to the region, particularly from traditional European markets such as Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom but also from very promising emerging markets such as those of the Gulf countries, China and India.
According to Yakhya El Abbassi, the delegated organizer, “Nearly 200 operators including regional, Moroccan and international tour operators and Tour Operators (T.O) have already confirmed their participation in the event which is structured around three large spaces, notably the Presentation Space, the Exhibition Space and the BtoB Space.” In the “Presentations Area”, international and Moroccan operators from other regions will be able to discover through presentations the “Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma-PTTTH Tourist Product) which is made up of 8 distinct tourist destinations. In the “Exhibition Space”, local receptionists will deploy seductive treasures to increase their visibility and attract as many customers as possible. “Around fifty stands would already be reserved,” he explains. The same goes for the “B to B Space” where more than 3,000 meetings in “speed networking” mode of 8 minutes each are already scheduled. “Our objective is to increase the number of meetings between supply and demand to maximize business exchanges between local and international operators and hope to result in numerous partnership contracts,” explains El Abassi who adds that other seductive arguments will be deployed to convince national and foreign tour operators who already sell or want to sell the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma destination.
Indeed, in addition to the plenary sessions which will deal with several subjects related to the local offer, participants will be entitled to discovery trips to tourist sites and monuments. This will notably be the case for the new port of Tangier city and a few hand-picked locations in the hinterland. Remember that the objective of this first regional tourism exchange in Tangier is to offer an annual platform for meetings between professionals from the source markets and those established locally. The CRT and its partners are counting on its sustainability to diversify the source markets, ensure the tourism development of the region and why not make it an event of national dimension.
