This protocol highlights the common heritage and the role of the media in the success of this global sporting event. On Wednesday, in Tangier, a symbolic moment marked sporting and media relations between Morocco, Spain and Portugal. The Moroccan Sports Press Association (AMPS) signed, with its Spanish and Portuguese counterparts, a cooperation protocol aimed at uniting the efforts of journalists from the three countries to support the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup. This initiative emphasizes the footballing, cultural and human heritage that binds these nations, while aiming to create a sustainable collaboration framework to support the success of this international competition. Clear and ambitious objectives The protocol signed in Tangier aims to establish more extensive cooperation between the three sports press associations, beyond simple media coverage. The aim is to unite professionals in the sector to support major initiatives linked to the 2030 World Cup. Among the main objectives, we find the strengthening of relations between journalists from the three countries, as well as the sharing of professional experiences and know-how acquired over the years. This cooperation will support seamless media coverage throughout preparations for the tournament. The three associations share the conviction that the media play a crucial role in the success of major sporting events. Journalists are not only witnesses, but also key players in transmitting the legacy of these competitions. This protocol intends to promote this mission by encouraging the exchange of expertise between journalists, while supporting the training of young professionals in the sector. AMPS President Badreddine El Idrissi stressed that this partnership represents a strong moment, symbolizing unity and the desire to build a unique World Cup, while defending the interests of sports journalists. Media collaboration at the heart of the preparations For his part, Jesus Alvarez, vice-president of the Spanish Sports Press Association, insisted on the importance of capitalizing on the media experiences of the three nations. He discussed supporting journalists in covering the event, with particular attention paid to each stage of preparations for the 2030 World Cup. In addition, this cooperation seeks to create a common framework to promote coherent and representative media coverage of the cultural wealth of the organizing countries. A World Cup to bring nations closer Manuel Queiroz, president of the Portuguese Sports Press Association, put forward the idea that this edition of the 2030 World Cup will be unique due to the cultural diversity of the co-organizing countries. This diversity, far from being an obstacle, will be a real lever to bring people together. Whether through match coverage or parallel cultural activities, this edition will highlight the human and historical ties that unite Morocco, Spain and Portugal. By bringing together the strengths of the media of these three nations, this initiative aims to make the 2030 World Cup a landmark moment in the history of football, but also in that of cooperation between sports professionals.
