3rd Cross Country Paradis Plage, an event that has become unmissable…
Every year at the end of November, Moroccan and international motocross riders meet on Imi Ouaddar beach 35km from Agadir. An “Enduro” type race is organized there by the Souss Motor Sports Association, under the leadership of Harite Gabari, our Champion and the only Moroccan to participate in the Dakar Rally on a motorcycle.
A six-kilometer circuit is traced briefly on the sand of the beach and sees more than a hundred competitors, motorcycles and quads, compete in several categories and age groups. A magnificent opportunity to celebrate the end of the racing year in Morocco.
On Saturday, the quads enter the race. A very physical exercise and often spectacular jumps. A race won and dominated this year by Moroccans from the Nitro Club of Agadir.
On Sunday, it’s time for motorcycles, starting with the race for young hopefuls (the youngest barely six years old). And then the highlight of the show with the motorcycle race. The start is impressive, when nearly a hundred competition engines roar at the same time on the beach.
Then it’s a ball of jumps, falls and long slides, to the great pleasure of the numerous spectators. It’s a real motorcycle festival and a real spectacle that takes up a good part of the day. Only a few minor incidents were reported and we received the full attention of the medical team led by Dr. Bouchiba Fouzi.
Mr. Khalid Kabbage, President of the Association, thanked at length all the participants, drivers, support team and spectators for their efforts and their commitment to come each year to support this major event for the region and for motocross in Morocco. Including this year an American pilot and numerous French pilots.
The appointment has already been made for next year.
