The Souss region stands out at the Festivitas show
The Rural Tourism Development Network participated in the Festivitas exhibition, which took place from February 3 to 5, 2017 in Mulhouse, a French city served by EuroAirport Basel – Mulhouse – Freiburg, given its proximity to Switzerland and Germany.
During this edition, the only stand that represented Morocco was the stand dedicated to rural tourism in the Souss Massa region. This stand was hosted by the Rural Tourism Development Network, the Moroccan travel agency Exclusive Travel Services Morocco and the Moroccan Association of Geographical Indication of Argane Oil (AMIGHA).
Festivitas being a thematic fair “Tourism and Gastronomy”, the stand dedicated to rural tourism in the Souss Massa Region highlighted the region’s flagship local products and also offered tastings of these products, as well as Moroccan pastries to visitors.
This show was a superb opportunity to promote the tourist circuits developed by the RDTR and the Téraktys association and ecotourism in the region through its local products. In addition, the presence of all the stakeholders gathered on the stand, in particular, rural tourism professionals and specialists in the sale of Moroccan tourist products but also local product stakeholders, made it possible to give more visibility to what we offer in our region of Souss Massa in terms of natural, cultural and socio-cultural wealth…
This 7th edition of Festivitas recorded 22,000 visitors and it is estimated that 60% of these visitors stopped at the Morocco Stand, dedicated to rural tourism. This was a great opportunity to reach a community that knows very little about Agadir and the Souss Massa region.
To drain these visitors towards the Morocco stand, a large Tombola was set up over the 3 days of the show. The big prize was a 4-day circuit on the honey route, a circuit built by the Rural Tourism Development Network and the Tétraktys association as part of the decentralized cooperation linking the Souss Massa Regional Council and the General Council of Isère. This jackpot is offered jointly by members of the Rural Tourism Development Network and the Exclusive Travel Services agency, while a basket of local products was offered as a second prize by the representative of the AMIGHA Association. Luckily, the stay in Morocco was won by a young couple who have never visited our country before.
