Morocco celebrated, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, the transition to 2025. Impeccable organization, supported by a reinforced security system, allowed everyone to enjoy these festivities. The images. The magic of the New Year took place in Marrakech. Music and celebrations took place in the streets of the old medina, on the famous Jemaa el-Fna square or in the upscale neighborhoods of Guéliz and Hivernage. The police were deployed in large numbers to ensure the tranquility of the festivities. “Police officers were everywhere: in Jemaa el-Fna square, around hotels and in busy neighborhoods. Their presence reassured us a lot,” says Amine Benkirane, a resident.
The ocher town also attracted a large number of visitors who came to celebrate the transition to the new year. “Several tourists chose Marrakech this year, and they really feel at home, especially since the city is very secure,” shares Yassine Akchaou, another resident. With regular patrols, plainclothes teams and controls at the entrances to the busiest areas, the city has managed to guarantee a calm atmosphere, even in crowded places. “This reinforced system allowed everyone to take full advantage of this evening,” points out our interlocutor. Tangier was not left out. The atmosphere there was happy and lively. Residents and visitors, who came in large numbers, shared magical moments in an atmosphere of conviviality. “It was so nice to experience this festive atmosphere with my parents. I loved it!”, testifies Amal Oulad Mama, a little girl who came with her family.
