Infomédiaire Maroc – The Secretary General at the Ministry of Tourism, Nada Roudiès, participated this week in the official launch of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, in the presence of King Felipe VI of Spain, Taleb Rifai, SG of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and many international tourism ministers.
As a reminder, the United Nations General Assembly, at its 70th session, proclaimed 2017 the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. And it is the UNWTO that is responsible for organizing and implementing this International Year.
Note that Morocco, which has chosen to place sustainable and responsible tourism at the heart of its “Vision 2020” tourism strategy, is joining the efforts of the UNWTO to celebrate this important event and will deploy a dense program of activities at the national level, pan-African and international.
Program aimed at raising awareness among the general public of the contribution of sustainable tourism to development and encouraging good practices and innovative initiatives to make the Kingdom a benchmark destination in terms of sustainable tourism.
