Since the 1960s, Development Cooperation has played an important role in relations between Italy and Morocco.
The first technical and financial cooperation agreement between the two countries was signed in Rome in 1961.
Several aspects of cooperation have been initiated in several sectors of the agricultural and agri-food sector, with specific agreements in 2008 and more recently interesting prospects with the signing of an MOU and the establishment of a legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
Italian cooperation takes the form of support for technological innovation and the development of agricultural production capacities. In this sense, a memorandum of understanding was ratified between the Italian Foreign Trade Agency (ICE) and the National Food Safety Office (ONSSA).
The SIAM, which will be preceded by the organization on April 17 of the national agricultural conference, will be erected on a total area of 170,000 m2, including 80,000 m2 covered with 3,000 parking spaces and will attract this year more than a million and 1,230 exhibitors representing 65 countries.
