Twenty-two countries have announced their participation in the second edition of the Rabat International Triathlon (ATU Sprint Triathlon African Cup) scheduled for April 15.
As of Monday, the countries having confirmed their participation are France, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Venezuela, Hungary, Lithuania, Austria, Jordan, Belgium, Hong Kong, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Algeria, Switzerland, Germany and Tunisia in addition to the host country Morocco. This edition has a special aspect due to its programming as part of the festivities marking the proclamation of Rabat as the capital of Arab youth.
During the 1st edition, the Rabat Triathlon was won by the Moroccan Badr Siouane and the Tunisian Ouns Lajili after 750m of swimming, 20 km of cycling race and 5 km of running. The triathlons of Rabat, Agadir, Larache, and Dakhla are included in the calendar of the African Union and the International Federation of the discipline.
