International tourism fair Top Resa 2017: Strong presence of the Morocco destination

Consolidate the clear recovery of the leading source market for tourists to Morocco. This is the objective stated by the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and Moroccan professionals during the Top Resa 2017 international tourism fair which is being held from September 26 to 29, 2017 in Paris.

Indeed, on a 252m2 stand located in the heart of the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, Moroccan professionals in the sector will present to French visitors the assets of the Morocco destination. In this sense, the ONMT stand will highlight Moroccan craftsmanship, with a space dedicated and fitted out by the Maison de l’artisan, its cultural heritage and its gastronomy with tasting workshops by Moroccan chef Rachid Maftouh.  This year 31,000 professional visitors are expected at the Show. This 39th edition of IFTM Top Resa targets leisure as well as business and events. For Abderrafie Zouiten, director general of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), the level and diversity of Moroccan participation in this Fair constitutes “a foretaste of what our country is”. For his part, Benjamin Griveaux, French Secretary of State for Economy and Finance, explained that the Kingdom occupies a big place in his heart, inviting his compatriots to discover Morocco, one of the most beautiful countries in Africa.

He also welcomed the fact that new offers and destinations are now offered to visitors to Morocco, alongside traditional circuits. The first non-European destination for the French, Morocco experienced a year 2016 marked by a resumption of arrivals and overnight stays. an upward trend which continued more strongly in 2017. At the end of July 2017, arrivals recorded an increase of 8%. This improvement is explained by the substantial increase in air capacity to Morocco, and by the implementation of several communication actions.
