
Hyatt hotels & resorts opens 9 new hotels in Africa, including two in Morocco by the end of 2020
Among the nine new hotels, five are market entries:
– Algeria: Hyatt Regency Algiers Airport (opening planned for the first quarter of 2019);
– Ethiopia: Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa (opening planned for 4th quarter 2018);
– Kenya: Hyatt Place Nairobi / Westlands and Hyatt House Nairobi / Westlands (opening planned for 2020);
– Senegal: Hyatt Centric Dakar (opening planned for the first quarter of 2019).
In established markets in Africa, Hyatt is expanding its footprint to:
– Cairo: Hyatt Regency Cairo West (expected to open in 2020) will mark the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Egypt;
– Morocco: Park Hyatt Marrakech(opening scheduled for 2020) and Hyatt Regency Taghazout (opening scheduled forthird quarter 2019) will represent the third and fourth Hyatt-branded hotels in Morocco. The chain is already present in Casablanca (Hyatt Regency Casablanca) and Agadir (Hyatt Place Taghazout Bay).
« Hyatt Regency Taghazout » will therefore be the brand’s second hotel in Taghazout. The 205-room hotel will be located on a 45-hectare site facing the beach, in the Taghazout Bay development zone.
– Tanzania: Hyatt Regency Arusha (scheduled to open mid-2019) will mark the third Hyatt-branded hotel in the country.
As part of Hyatt’s long-term development plan in sub-Saharan Africa, the chain will continue to seek new opportunities in countries such as Rwanda, Uganda, Mozambique, Namibia, Cameroon, Madagascar, Ghana and Ivory Coast, a press release announced.
