“BMCE Tower”: work will begin on November 1, 2018

Impending launch of construction work on the “Bank of Africa Tower”. Thursday October 4, in Dubai, Besix, Sixco and TGCC signed a contract for the design and construction of the tower, developed by the company O Tower, a subsidiary of the FinanceCom group.

The work will begin on November 1, 2018 and will be delivered on May 30, 2022.

« Bank of Africa Tower » will join the category of very tall skyscrapers, and will have 55 floors, housing a luxury hotel, prestigious offices and very high standard apartments. An observatory at the top of the tower is also planned.

« The work, designed by architects Rafael de la Hoz and Hakim Benjelloun, will be LEED Gold and HQE certified and will comply with the highest international standards in terms of high environmental quality », it is specified in a press release.

The innovations brought by the Besix engineering department guarantee a work at the cutting edge of contemporary techniques in the field of construction. »

As a reminder, Besix is a group based in Brussels, active in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Oceania, particularly in the construction sector. Among its recent achievements: Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Four Seasons hotel in Manama, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, the Méridien hotel and the Nile City in Cairo,… In Morocco, the company has already carried out the expansion of the port of Tangier Med II and built the seaside resort of Mazagan Beach.

As a reminder, in July 2017, the Chinese CRCCI (China Railways Construction Corporation International) won, in consortium with TGCC, the construction project for the BMCE tower. In May 2018, the Chinese drastically reduced their intervention in the project. This also resulted in a drop in their share (60%) in the group, in favor of its Moroccan project partner: TGCC. Project management therefore fell to the latter.
