La Mamounia crowned best hotel in the world and Africa, according to the Conde Nast Traveler ranking

La Mamounia was crowned this Tuesday, October 9 “Best Hotel in the World” and “Best Hotel in Africa” by the magazine Conde Nast Traveler US. Just three years after receiving the World’s Best Hotel Award from Conde Nast UK, the famous Marrakech palace is once again in the spotlight thanks to the Conde Nast Traveler Choice, the most prestigious award in the luxury hotel industry.

For this ranking, more than half a million readers of the prestigious magazine participated in this vote, having lifted La Mamounia to the top of the podium, with an impressive score of 99.77/100.

“We are honored to receive this ultimate distinction from the readers of the prestigious Conde Nast Traveler,” said Pierre Jochem, general manager of La Mamounia. « All this would never have been possible without the great involvement and commitment of all the La Mamounia teams. Receiving such an award is a magnificent recognition », continues Mr Jochem

In a press release published today, Mamounia says it is “proud to carry high the colors of the Kingdom through the values of hospitality and excellence that it conveys throughout the world and which are celebrated today”.

A true jewel of Hispano-Moorish architecture, with its riads, its zellige and its lush gardens, the palace, which owes its name to Mamoun, one of the four sons of the Alawite sultan Sidi Md Ben Abdallah, has remained a mythical place in the ocher city for almost a century.
