The Thai Centara is looking for hotels to acquire in Morocco
Centara Hotels & Resorts has sent several teams to prospect in Morocco. Objective: identify hotels to acquire, which will make the Kingdom its access point to North Africa. “Our teams are looking for new hotels in Morocco. We want to make an acquisition there to launch ourselves into this new market,” said Markland Blaiklock, deputy general manager of international press.
This future location reflects the group’s expansion strategy, which aims to expand its property portfolio by 50% by 2022. In this context, Centara is preparing for the opening, in the coming days, of four new establishments in Thailand. For its part, the Centara West Bay Residences & Suites Doha will open its doors next month and will offer 265 units.
For the moment, no information has yet filtered on the city chosen to host the first Centara hotel in Morocco and South Africa North, nor on the establishments targeted by the Thai chain. “Nothing is confirmed yet, but we are seriously studying the matter,” Blaiklock simply commented.
Founded in 1980, Centara Hotels & Resorts offers a mix of luxury and boutique rooms. Its turnover for the year 2017 is more than 620 million dollars.
