Hospitality: what you need to know about the reopening of tourist accommodation establishments
The Ministry of Tourism, Crafts, Air Transport and the Social Economy announced this Sunday the resumption, from June 25, 2020, of tourist accommodation activity. The details.
This is a decision which follows the joint press release from the Ministries of the Interior, Health, Industry, Commerce, Green and Digital Economy, relating to the transition to the 2nd phase of the health confinement relief plan. Thus, the ministry specifies that the resumption of tourist accommodation activity will be limited, initially, in terms of capacity and conditioned geographically according to the area of exercise.
Thus, we learn that tourist accommodation establishments (EHT) are required to respect the health provisions making it possible to guarantee the health safety of customers, staff and all other users of said establishments. The ministry adds that these provisions concern in particular the regular disinfection of all departments of the EHT, the limitation of the number of customers who can access the EHT at the same time, the establishment of a crawl space of 6 hours between each reservation and the disinfection of luggage at the time of check-in and when the keys are handed over by customers during check-out.
Tourist accommodation establishments are also required to respect a maximum capacity of 50% of the accommodation capacity and in all common areas such as restaurants, hammams, hair salons, sports halls, shops and other points open to the public.
The ministry also specifies that details of the measures are available in the collection of health security recommendations linked to Covid-19 for Moroccan tourist operators published on the ministry’s website www.mtataes.gov.ma – section measures to combat Covid 19. The department of Nadia Fettah Alaoui indicates that it remains mobilized and will deploy the necessary efforts to support the various players in the sector to overcome this crisis.
