- Ongoing discussions to soon expand the company’s scope of operation.
The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and the airline easyJet announce the launch from December 19, 2020 of a program of connections from France to Marrakech for the end-of-year holiday period. Thus, from this date, the company will connect Marrakech from 4 French airports, namely Paris CDG, Bordeaux, Lyon and Nice.
“The resumption of Easyjet flights to Morocco is a strong and reassuring signal regarding the recovery we are working towards. We are convinced that this offer for the coming weeks will attract a significant number of travelers who will come to celebrate the end of year holidays in Morocco. We are also working on all destinations from the main source markets so that the offer is increasingly important and deployed in the main tourist destinations of our country,” announced Adel El Fakir, Director General of the ONMT, quoted in a press release.
The program will extend over a period of more than two weeks, between December 19, 2020 and January 3, 2021 inclusive, with a total of 29 frequencies planned for Paris Charles-de-Gaulle with 10 frequencies (round trip) total, at a rate of 5 flights per week from Saturday December 19. Nice, with 8 total frequencies, with 4 flights per week from Saturday December 19. Lyon with 6 total frequencies, with 3 flights per week from Sunday December 20, and Bordeaux with 5 total frequencies from Saturday December 19.
For Reginald Otten, easyJet Deputy Managing Director for France: “We are very happy to resume our routes to Morocco for the end-of-year holidays. easyJet is the second largest airline in France and has built a premier network serving Paris and the regions. In this particular period that we are going through, we are constantly working to offer an attractive network in line with customer demand, while guaranteeing flights operated in compliance with the strictest health standards. »
Moreover, discussions between the Office and the company are continuing in order to begin the resumption of services from the United Kingdom and Switzerland for the current winter season, as well as the strengthening of programming from the French market, indicates the same press release.
As a reminder, easyJet occupied first place in terms of air services to Marrakech from the French market during the same period of the previous year (2019/2020 season).
