The installation ceremonies, chaired by the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit, took place at the headquarters of the Wilaya, marking the Kingdom’s desire to breathe new dynamism into the leadership of this region key, The appointment of El Hebil, a profile renowned for his experience in territorial management, is not trivial; it underlines the need for a reinforced administrative approach resolutely focused on the implementation of the High Royal Guidelines.
The main mission of the new Wali will be to concretely translate the royal vision in terms of development, particularly with regard to the continuation of major projects and the consolidation of the economic and tourist attractiveness of the region. However, the major challenge awaiting Khatib El Hebil is to ensure “spatial justice”, a concept at the heart of the New Moroccan Development Model. It requires an approach capable of harmonizing the requirements of a modern economy with the imperatives of equitable development for all of the region’s populations.
