Agadir strengthens its air connections

14! This is the number of weekly air rotations that will serve Agadir from next October. Tourism professionals in the capital of Souss are rubbing their hands at the promising prospects that this represents for the sector. Indeed, the destination will have an additional capacity of nearly 126,000 seats. The flight plan of this Air Arabia plane which will be based in Agadir will connect Agadir Al Massira airport to seven European cities directly, twice a week.

“It is thanks to the efforts made over several years by the various stakeholders that this project was able to see the light of day,” explains Asmaa Oubou, deputy director of the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Agadir Souss Massa. The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), the wilaya of the Souss Massa region, the CRT, elected officials and professionals in the tourism sector of the destination and its region have fought to increase the volume of plane seats on point-to-point airlines between Agadir Al Massira airport and the most important European cities. Air travel is one of the sine qua non conditions for a real tourist boost to the destination.

It should be remembered that last November, the flight schedule at Agadir Al Massira airport already saw an increase in its point-to-point rotations. With lines connecting Agadir to Frankfurt, Munich, Leipzig, Cologne, Hanover, Berlin, Lyon, Zurich, London-Stansted, Lille and Warsaw. This had a positive impact given the increase in arrivals recorded during the winter of 2016/2017 (+20% last February).

Moreover, from July 2017, Air France will strengthen the presence of numerous international airlines and the national airline, already operational on the tarmac below: Royal Air Maroc, Ryanair, Transavia, Easyjet, Sunexpress, Thomson Fly, Jetair Fly, Air Berlin, Niki Fly, Condor, Germania, Norwegian, Binter, Vim Airlines and several other brands.
