Yasmina Belahsen, Moroccan entrepreneur, was honored at the International Conference of the African Women’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum 2023 (AWIEF 2023). She won the AWIEF prize in the “Creative Industry” category, alongside women business leaders from several countries on the African continent.
The ceremony took place last November in Kigali, Rwanda, as part of the annual conference honoring the careers of African women entrepreneurs in innovative sectors with strong social impact. This edition focused on the theme “Harnessing the power of the digital economy: innovate, redefine, empower”. AWIEF 2023 speakers and delegates explored ways to boost inclusiveness, strengthen partnerships and empower women’s contributions to the digital economy. Honored by the award in recognition of her entrepreneurial journey, her dedication to the employability of young people, as well as her involvement in female emancipation and causes aimed at empowering women, Yasmina Belahsen was praised by her peers and by opinion leaders present at the Conference. The Creative Industry Prize awarded to Yasmina Belahsen recognizes the entrepreneurial journey of a woman in the digital and communications industry. She was honored alongside seven other women from different African countries including Senegal, Ethiopia, South Africa, Nigeria, Cameroon, Rwanda and Egypt.
