Football World Cup in Morocco: “a huge opportunity for tourism”
With an absolute tourist record in 2023, Morocco hopes to continue this momentum in 2024. But the destination is already going further with the co-organization of the Football World Cup in Morocco in 2030, which should be made official at the end of 2024.
The SETO has chosen Morocco and Rabat to organize its 14th Forum. A flagship destination for tour operators, René-Marc Chikli, president of the Union and Hervé Tilmont, general director, were keen to support the country, after the earthquake which struck Marrakech on September 8. As a reminder, Morocco ranks second among foreign destinations sold by TOs this winter, with 77,600 package travel customers, up 5.2%. In the summer of 2024, the country is also in a good place, with 58,900 pax, up 10.7%.
