Getaway to the Maghreb: two hotels to know in Marrakech
If you are looking for a hotel where luxury and paradise are combined, here are two to (re)discover.
The Les Deux Tours hotel Luxury and luxuriance in Marrakech The Les Deux Tours hotel in Marrakech contains a little corner of paradise in the middle of a Garden of Eden.
Marrakech and its very lively medina, its Jemaa el-Fna square teeming with life and people, a world to leaves. Only about fifteen minutes from these very dense places, the Hôtel Les Deux Tours. The contrast is striking. The establishment’s 41 rooms and suites are scattered throughout the 2.7 hectares of the property. A soothing and lush green setting. If during its construction around thirty years ago, the various buildings were destined to become private villas, Charles Boccara, father of the current owner of the place who designed this magical place, ultimately chose to initially make it into guest rooms. Three decades later, the Deux Tours – which takes its name from the two towers which constituted the main entrance to the estate – has become a vacation spot particularly appreciated by French and Belgian travelers, but also by certain celebrities.
In 2007, Mathieu Boccara took over the helm of the establishment. A hotel with a family history far from the big hotel groups. All the buildings, built in the pure tradition of Moroccan architecture, embrace the decor and nature in harmony. Places with careful decoration made by local artisans. Majestic chandeliers and open fires in the restaurants make the place a refined place, far from too bling bling decoration. The charm of simplicity. “It’s more than a stay, it’s time that stops. There is a special atmosphere. You are in Marrakech but without feeling it,” underlines Eros Abrile, the general manager of the place. “We love simple refinement.”
Obviously, Les Deux Tours has a magnificent heated swimming pool. Blending harmoniously into the landscape, lined with olive trees, it allows you to refresh yourself in a soothing setting. Some of the suites contain a heavenly surprise, small private swimming pools. Further in the garden, one of the establishment’s restaurants offers a menu to enjoy the lunch break, while a Japanese corner and an evening restaurant offer traditional Moroccan and European dishes. “We highlight our vegetable garden. We are practically self-sufficient in terms of certain support,” underlines the director. To mark your stay with a memorable moment, it is possible to organize a country picnic in the garden, have a shave by a barber among the olive trees, have an outdoor massage or have a candlelit dinner in the vegetable garden. An address like an enchanted parenthesis that we almost don’t want to share!
