7.4 million visitors: “exceptional growth” in tourism in H1-2024

Morocco welcomed a record number of 7.4 million tourists during the first half of 2024, reports the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy. This is confirmed by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy in a press release published this Tuesday, July 23. “Moroccan tourism continues its upward trajectory, as evidenced by the exceptional growth in the first half of 2024. The figures speak for themselves: 7.4 million visitors crossed Moroccan borders, representing an increase of 14% compared to 2023 and a spectacular jump of 38% compared to 2019,” we read. The same source specifies that the enthusiasm for the Morocco destination exceeds the government’s expectations. Indeed, “while the objectives are one million additional tourists for the entire year of 2024, Morocco has already welcomed 909,000 additional visitors in just six months,” we detail. , an increase of 10% year-on-year, and the summer season looks just as promising.
