Morocco is attracting more and more Russians. According to the latest figures presented by the specialist company MTS Travel, the number of Russian tourists who visited the Kingdom during the summer of 2024 increased by 150% compared to last year. Thanks to this growth, Morocco overtakes South Africa and Tunisia to become the third most popular tourist destination in Africa for Russians. The first two places being occupied by Egypt and the Seychelles.
An upward trend which should increase during the month of September when Morocco becomes the number 1 African destination for Russians with 38% of reservations compared to 24.7% for Egypt in second position. According to the same source, flights with a stopover via Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are the most popular among Russian tourists traveling to Morocco, given their competitive prices. TMS also reveals that Russian tourists to Africa spend an average of 10 days there, which represents 5% of their total foreign trips during the summer.
