Pickalbatros acquires 4 new hotels in Morocco

2024 will have been a good year for the Egyptian hotel group Pickalbatros, which is strengthening its presence in the Moroccan market with the acquisition of four new hotels in difficulty. This strategic approach brings the group’s total capacity to more than 2,600 rooms in Morocco, thus confirming its ambition to become a major player in the hotel sector, alongside other chains. Among the recently acquired establishments, Pickalbatros added to its portfolio hotels located in key tourist destinations in Morocco: -Club Sangho in Marrakech: 349 rooms -Le Palmeraie Palace and Golf Hotel in Marrakech: 640 rooms -Le Palais des Roses in Agadir: 410 rooms Before their planned reopening by 2025, some of these hotels are expected to undergo renovations, demonstrating the group’s desire to offer quality services and facilities. high quality to its customers. Pickalbatros, one of the largest hotel groups in Egypt, has invested $200 million to firmly establish itself in Morocco. With this recent acquisition, the group now operates seven hotels across the country. This expansion is part of an ambitious growth strategy, aiming to increase Pickalbatros’ hotel capacity in Morocco by approximately 43%, to reach 2,000 rooms within two years. In addition to increasing its presence in Marrakech, Pickalbatros is specifically targeting the city of Agadir for its future investments, knowing that the destination records the highest rate of closed hotels. Of course, the city has benefited from positive tourism dynamics since the start of 2023, offering the group an opportunity for expansion in a booming market.
