Green March Rally: When Classic Cars Pay Tribute to Territorial Integrity, from Tangier to Laâyoune

The « Green March, route de Laâyoune » rally for classic cars was launched from Tangier, with the participation of more than 50 old vehicles that bear witness to the history of Morocco.

This rally, which links Tangier to Laâyoune passing through key cities such as Rabat, Marrakech, Agadir, Guelmim and Tarfaya, is organized in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the glorious Green March.

This edition has a particular symbolism coinciding with the adoption by the UN Security Council of the autonomy proposal for the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty.

The event has several objectives, including: highlighting the interest of Moroccans in the preservation of classic cars, raising awareness of the cultural and historical richness and diversity of the Kingdom, and promoting international tourism.

The organizers also seek to support charitable works in favor of needy categories along the route. This edition saw wide international participation, with drivers representing around 14 countries, including Moroccans from around the world residing in the United States, thus reinforcing the unitary and tourist dimension of the event
