
The Superior Council of the Judicial Power: Complaints, a strategic lever to strengthen citizens’ confidence in justice

A report from the Superior Council of the Judicial Power revealed a notable increase in the number of complaints and appeals received during the year 2024, totaling 7,513 files. capacity of the Council to deliver justice and correct the dysfunctions of the judicial system.
This total is part of a cumulative 47,735 complaints since 2017, confirming the strategic role of the Council as a vector of institutional proximity and putting the judicial system at the service of the citizen, while demonstrating increased awareness of the rights of litigants.
According to the report, the Council processes these complaints according to a strategic methodology based on the simplification of filing procedures whether in person, by mail or via digital means, the adoption of precise and transparent procedures for examining files, as well as the systematic notification of complainants on the outcome of their requests, in order to assert transparency and accountability.
This framework made it possible to finalize the processing of 7,251 complaints in 2024, with an execution rate reaching 96.5%. The report highlights the diversity of channels for receiving complaints, with a predominance of direct filings (2,323 complaints), followed by postal mailings (1,926 complaints), as well as institutional referrals coming in particular from the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Justice and the General Delegation for Prison Administration.
The Council is strengthening this system by qualifying competent judicial and administrative executives and by equipping its structures with modern IT tools to digitally record and monitor complaints, thus allowing it to extract strategic indicators essential for making precise and effective decisions, while consolidating societal trust in the judicial institution.
