The children of Africa launch an appeal from Rabat: “Unity is our strength” and the Children’s Parliament Forum sounds the death knell for the continent’s challenges

African child parliamentarians, gathered in Rabat this Saturday, affirmed that the First African Forum of the Children’s Parliament represents a vital forum and necessary to ensure that the voice of the continent’s children is heard, to advance their rights and discuss the main challenges facing them

Participants highlighted, in statements made after the official closing ceremony of the Forum, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, President of the National Observatory for the Rights of the Child (ONDE), the capital importance of this event organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, On this occasion, the child parliamentarians expressed their warm thanks and deep gratitude to Princess Lalla Meryem for her continued efforts in favor of children’s causes,

They also welcomed the opportunity that was given to them to express their aspirations and debate current issues, while promoting the relevance of the themes addressed during the workshops organized. In this regard, Maroua Khaddouri, child parliamentarian representing the Marrakech-Safi region, indicated that the Forum was an ideal opportunity to formulate recommendations and propose solutions to the problems encountered by the African child. For her part, the President of the Children’s Parliament of Chad, Tog Yala Anita, described the Forum as a crucial step. to make the voices of Africa’s children heard, a fundamental step in giving them the place they deserve in decisions that concern them. She stressed that listening to young people remains a priority, because they “represent the future of Africa”

Similarly, the child parliamentarian from another country expressed his pride in participating in the Forum, stressing that it reflects the principle « Unity is strength » and allows each country represented to strengthen its capacities and fuel the hope of a better future for the continent’s children.
