Aghmat: Zaouïa Idghoughn returns to its traditional cultural Moussem

BERKCH AZIZ

In a festive atmosphere imbued with a deep national spirit and the commemoration of the glory of the Green March on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, the Zaouia Idoughougne, belonging to the commune and the cïadat Aghmat, is preparing to launch its annual cultural festival, organized by the Assahwa Association for Development in the province of Al Haouz, from Saturday December 5, 2025 until the 12th of the same month.

This emblematic Moussem, anchored in the history of Zaouïa Idghoughn for decades, returns this year in a richer and more vibrant edition.

The program includes notable demonstrations of tbourida, this traditional equestrian art strongly rooted in Moroccan culture and enjoying great popularity in the region.

Nearly 80 riders and horses from the Doukkala region are expected to take part in the event, alongside elites from the local Aghmat sorbas, in spectacular parades which will attract a large audience from neighboring communities, passionate about this ancestral heritage.

The Moussem will also be punctuated by artistic evenings hosted by Ahwach troupes, who will light up the nights of the festival with their songs, their unique rhythms and their collective dances reflecting all the depth of the region’s intangible heritage and the richness of Amazigh culture

This edition of the Idghoughn Moussem this year is not a simple local celebration, but a cultural event charged with national symbolism, reviving the spirit of belonging and cohesion that the Green March has engraved in the memory of all Moroccans.
