DISCOVER MOROCCO
The Mediator of the Kingdom announced that King Mohammed VI approved the establishment of December 9 of each year as a National Day of Public Mediation

This date coincides with the creation in 2001 of the former institution of Diwan Al Madalim, which gives it symbolic significance particular, recalling the content of the royal message which announced its foundation as well as the publication of dahir n° 1.01.298 establishing this structure.

According to the press release, this decision reflects the constant attention paid by the Sovereign to institutional mediation mechanisms, considered essential to strengthening the principles of justice and equity.

It is also part of the continuity of the process of evolution that the institution has experienced, from the Diwan Al Madalim to its constitutionalization as an independent body responsible for the protection of rights and the promotion of good governance.

The establishment of this National Day will now constitute an annual meeting dedicated to the promotion of public mediation, a space for reflection on good practices and comparative experiences, as well as an opportunity to highlight the efforts accomplished and to formulate new recommendations in favor of a citizen administration based on fairness, transparency and respect for the law.
