Made in Morocco: a strategic lever to strengthen the industrial competitiveness of the Kingdom

The head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, affirmed during the National Industry Day in Rabat that the “Made in Morocco” label has become a strategic lever to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a competitive industrial destination. He stressed that, thanks to the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Moroccan industry has made notable progress, particularly in the automobile and aeronautics sectors, Morocco now being the leading car producer in Africa and the leading exporter to the European Union.

The aeronautics sector, for its part, has recorded growth of more than 60% since 2021, Akhannouch specified that Morocco is working to develop an electric mobility ecosystem, including the supply of raw materials and the assembly of batteries, while launching projects reflecting the confidence of international partners in the national industrial platform. In the field of health,

the Kingdom has established a vaccine production unit and signed agreements aimed at strengthening the local manufacturing of pharmaceutical products in order to consolidate the country’s health sovereignty. The head of government also recalled that Morocco ranked 12th globally in 2025 in terms of industrial production with medium and high technological content, according to the Global Innovation Index, the country’s best ranking over the last five years.

The government has launched several initiatives such as the “Industrial Project Banker”, having attracted more than 1,900 projects, as well as a research and industrial innovation program to finance innovative local initiatives, Akhannouch insisted on Morocco’s desire to focus on clean energy and green hydrogen to support a sustainable industry and strengthen employment, while affirming that the final objective is to consolidate the Kingdom’s position among emerging economies and to make the label “Made in Morocco” a symbol of quality, competitiveness and development.
