Bahrain will host, on May 16, the 33rd Ordinary Summit Session of the Council of the League of Arab States, the Pan-Arab Organization announced on Saturday.
« King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa discussed in Manama with Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit joint preparations between the General Secretariat and the Kingdom of Bahrain for the holding of the next Ordinary Arab Summit, which must take place in Bahrain on May 16 », indicates the League in a press release.
Mr. Aboul Gheit, quoted in the press release, expressed his « full confidence » in Bahrain’s ability to host a successful Summit at all levels, indicating that it was agreed to intensify joint efforts in order to do everything possible to ensure the holding and success of the Summit. “This summit will be held in a very sensitive situation at the regional and international levels, he said.
